He grew up with the Archangel Sidriel, and they were close friends for a long time. When Sidriel was elevated to the Council and later made Archangel, he entrusted Ansiel with the guardianship of the Mirror Valley and his truce with Beleth. Ansiel, despite occasionally being a little naive, has a good heart, and he is fully capable of judging a situation and acting in the manner he feels is best without much forethought. He is not the Commander of the Armies of Heaven, but he is a Captain of an advance guard, and he has permission to exercise his power when he believes is necessary. He is also one of the few angels in Heaven who can make demands of the Council of Heaven and speak in their closed councils, because he has great influence at the front lines and is the Steward of the Mirror Valley. To some, he is even called the Fifth Council Member, though that position is not entirely formal.
