Sidriel began working under the Queen of Heaven (Lady Sachael's predecessor) in the Queen's Garden tending the seeds from the Tree of Life that would later become new angels. His final seed was Mihr of Heaven, and so he is very close to her, though they are more distant now because of his duties. At the time, however, he was recently raised to the Council of Heaven under the previous Archangel, and would assume his responsibilities as soon as she was born, so he carried her seed with him whereever he went.

During this time, angels and demons were involved in open warfare. During a battle, he was injured, and rescued by an unlikely character: the demon Prince Beleth. Intrigued by the truce between them, Beleth and Sidriel continued to meet in secret and hash out the details of a new peace treaty they longed to impliment. The Demon King and the Archangel were both killed shortly afterward in the war, and Beleth ascended the throne of Hell while Sidriel was voted as the new Archangel. Together, they signed the Covenant and Accords of Peace, and constructed the Monument in the Mirror Valley.

Sidriel sent his trusted friend and lifelong ally Ansiel to the Mirror Valley to serve as the Angelic Guardian. He requested that Sachael take Mihr in, and while he lost contact with Beleth after they gained power, the truce they created continues to hold in the Mirror Valley during The Devil's Smile.
