Penemuel was the son of the younger couple from the previous generation of the royal ether. Because of this, he was not the direct heir to the throne, which he was pleased about as he never required or desired power. He remained loyal to Beleth and Astaroth both, but had to choose Beleth with Astaroth's betrayal or risk a coup. He and Beleth grew up together and were therefore very close until Beleth sent him to the Mirror Valley.
A womanizer and a hedonist, he is nonetheless incredibly powerful. He is capable of summoning multiple minions at once from the strong royal ether, his primary minions being Lady Ronwe of Hell (his responsibility and maturity), and Lord Solas of Hell (his playfulness). He puts complete trust in them, often treating Solas more as a partner in crime than anything and casually teasing Ronwe, who gives him lectures right back.
He has grown close to Ansiel over the years, and also was gone by the time Zepar was taken prisoner by Beleth, so his relationship with Prince Zepar and angels in general is far more amiable than most demons. Because of his influence and the fact he is third in line to the throne (with a more legitimate claim than Zepar anyway, some would argue) he enjoys considerable influence, even in exile in the Mirror Valley, and this gives him both power and perspective. He is generally good at reading situations, acts carefree, but is quick thinking and capable when times call for it.
